The name Chahar Bagh and the way it is designed and the idea of having a lot of space all of these things come from the Mughal gardens like the Shalimar Gardens which is just a few blocks away from Chahar Bagh, in Lahore.So it is hard to say if this is a good idea or just a trick to get people interested. It all depends on how well they do it.After looking at what they’re building in Lahore and the RUDA project and the Chahar Bagh city we think it is a really good idea.
What Chahar Bagh actually means, and why RUDA chose it
Chahar Bagh means Four Gardens in the language. This idea was used by Mughal emperors to design gardens and areas. They would split the garden or area into four parts with paths or water in the middle. The Shalimar Gardens in Lahore are a good example of this design in Pakistan. People have used this design in South Asia, Central Asia and Iran for a long time.
The people at RUDA and their main planners at NESPAK used this idea to plan the layout of Chahar Bagh city. They organized the roads, the paths, the water and the houses, around the idea of four sections. This is not a simple idea. The way Chahar Bagh is designed is based on how all the parts of the city’re connected. The roads are connected in a way, the green areas are placed in certain spots and the feeling you get when you walk around the city is all part of the Chahar Bagh design.
The 60% green space commitment, what it actually means to live here

The master plan was made by NESPAK, which’s National Engineering Services Pakistan. This company is very good at what they do. The people in charge of building the infrastructure are NLC, which’s National Logistics Cell. Both NESPAK and NLC are government companies that have been around for a time. They have done a lot of engineering projects in Pakistan.
